Residencia del Pepe is an interdisciplinary residency located in Santa Mónica, Maldonado, Uruguay. The residence provides accommodation and working spaces for artists, designers, architects, writers and researchers, offering an environment for the development of individual and collaborative projects across different creative disciplines.
Space / Program Description
Residencia del Pepe offers four independent accommodation spaces and shared working areas located in the Galpón and the Tower, designed by architect Diego Montero. The facilities provide residents with spaces for individual work, research, project development and exchange with other participants.
The residency program is open to artists, designers, architects, writers and researchers working across a range of disciplines and at different stages of their practice.
The program holds two open calls per year, corresponding to residency periods in March-April and September–October. Applications are evaluated according to the applicant’s profile, discipline and proposed project, in relation to the characteristics and possibilities of the residence.
In addition to the residency calls, applications for exhibitions and project proposals are accepted throughout the year, providing opportunities to present and develop projects within the space.
Other information
The broader program connects participating practitioners through exhibitions, cultural programming and editorial initiatives, building an ongoing archive of the ideas, processes and works emerging from the residencies.
