Be Curious, Be Brave
Brand Ambassador of Istituto Marangoni, Cristina Morozzi toured with Federica Levrero presenting the Salone del Mobile Trends in Asuncion, Buenos Aires and Montevideo.
Travel Diary by Cristina Morozzi:
“A South American tour in these 3 different cities is an opportunity to feel different approaches to projects. Buenos Aires is a romantic metropolis, with an international style in fashion and design, as I was able to appreciate at La Europea, a seven-floor shopping centre devoted to design, with many Italian products, where I gave a lecture on 2017 design trends from the Milan Salone del Mobile to a large audience of professionals. I also gave a lecture at the huge Universidad de Buenos Aires, in the main lecture hall with over 400 very interested students.
Montevideo has its own, more ethnic, style. The young designers are very interested in being in touch with Italy. In Montevideo I met Lucia Benitez, a fashion designer involved in Manos del Uruguay, of whom I published an impressive dress in Terrific Fashion. She asked me to sign the book.
In Asuncion, Paraguay, I attended a party organised by the Italian ambassador Gabriele Annis and his wife Graciela in their residence, to celebrate Paraguayan designers who have studied in Italy. Istituto Marangoni participated in collaboration with Sax, a luxury department store. In the living room there were some outfits displayed, and among them were two by ex-Marangoni students and one by the famous designer Marcelo Burlon. There was also a fashion show in the garden. My lecture was at The Wild, an eccentric night club.”
