Central Saint Martins: The importance of Drawing in Design
Chris Brown, professor at Central Saint Martins, explained to us “The importance of Drawing in Design” in this informative talk in which we discussed: drawing to capture ideas and communicate, the universal importance of images over words, the difference between illustration and drawing, how to use drawing as a research tool and how to include all this in a creative portfolio.
About Christopher Brown: he was born and educated in London. He describes himself as an illustrator, educator, and writer. Until recently, he was a Senior Lecturer in the BA in Illustration at the LJMU Liverpool School of Art. He currently teaches on the BA and MA Fashion programs at CSM and MA Illustration at Camberwell. He has worked for numerous prestigious clients such as The Folio Society, The New Yorker, Habitat, Bloomingdales, Penguin Books, Faber and Faber, the Guardian, Barclays Bank, Gails Bakery, The Sunday Times, among many others.
