Harvey & Willys, Winner of the BAFWEEK x Istituto Marangoni Contest by Lucía Wegier
The recent edition of BAFWEEK closed with exciting news: Harvey & Willys was the winning brand of the study scholarship at the prestigious Istituto Marangoni, represented by FAD Connection.
With their “Random” collection, the brand stood out for its innovative approach, its ability to blend fashion with other artistic disciplines on the runway, and its vision for global expansion. Held at the Edificio del Plata in downtown Buenos Aires, the show transformed a building in the process of demolition into a runway, reinterpreting the space to create a temporary stage where fashion took center stage.
“Random”: A Fusion of Fashion and Music
The brand’s Fall-Winter 2025 collection reinterprets urban fashion through two key collaborations: one focused on workwear, highlighting the functionality and durability of the garments, and another on streetwear, featuring contemporary aesthetics.
Both proposals merge with the essence of Harvey & Willys, where denim and manual treatments applied to fabrics are integral to the design process.
The show featured 35 models, 3 actors, 2 collaborations—one with Puma and another with the historic workwear brand Ombú, celebrating its 80th anniversary—and over 200 items on stage, showcasing the magnitude of the presentation.
Music has always been a central element of the brand’s identity, and this collection reinforces it with references to alternative rock and Britpop, genres that influenced the aesthetic and spirit of the garments.
The Show as a Meeting Point
Harvey & Willys’ presentation was a convergence of various artistic disciplines, with the presence of influencers, musicians, fashion journalists, stylists, and close friends. Beyond the show itself, the event served as a space for connecting different creative expressions, strengthening the brand’s ties with the contemporary cultural scene.
London: A Destination for Inspiration and Growth
Harvey & Willys’ next destination is London, a city that has been a constant source of inspiration for the brand due to its musical history and creative energy. The scholarship at Istituto Marangoni represents an opportunity to delve deeper into these influences and continue to evolve on the international stage.
This is not the brand’s first step outside Argentina: in 2023, they opened a pop-up store in Madrid, solidifying their presence in the European market. With plans to continue expanding globally, Harvey & Willys reinforces its vision of growth beyond borders.
The scholarship program, driven by Istituto Marangoni and represented by FAD Connection, continues to create opportunities for emerging designers, promoting their development and international projection.
