Istituto Marangoni: The Work of Art in Post-Digital Creativity
The work of art in the age of post-digital creativity is a talk that discusses the question of art and its evolution throughout the last one hundred years, with a special focus on its relationship with new technologies. How the meaning and the role of what we define art has changed because of contemporary media? Which patterns and strategies remain the same? How internet influences our creative processes? Starting from Walter Benjamin emblematic book this talk explored the concepts of originality, creativity and imagination, presenting the work of several contemporary artists and their take on our challenging times.
About Roberto Fassone: Artist and researcher; he lives and works in Florence. His research focuses on the creative processes and the relationship between games and art. His work has been shown, among others, at: Visions du R el, Nyon (2022); 25th Gabrovo Biennial of Humor and Satire in Art (2022); Lo schermo dell’arte, Florence (2021); Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Paris (2021); Fanta-MLN, Milan (2019); MAMbo, Bologna (2018); OGR, Turin (2018); MOCAK, Krakow (2017). He teaches Research Methods, Contextual & Theoretical Studies and Digital Aesthetics at Istituto Marangoni in Florence.
