Italian Fashion and New Uruguayan Designers
On May 4, 2022, the Italian Embassy together with FAD Connection and Moweek organized the event “Italian fashion and new Uruguayan designers. Collaboration and training” with the aim of presenting the Italian fashion present in Uruguay and promoting the training in Italy of new Uruguayan talents. The quality of the Italian style and production, as well as the vocation to share the traditions and skills acquired over the years, marked the presentation of models from some of the renowned brands: Valentino Uruguay, Versace, Cavalli, Missoni and Volantis.
The Estrella project of the Uruguayan designer Amalia Branáa, trained at the Istituto Marangoni in Italy, was also presented, and some of the works of the young Uruguayan winners of the NABA & Moweek Edition 2019 and 2021 contest were exhibited: Martín González and Gala Vila, who will soon They will continue their training in Italy. Within the framework of the event, the 4th edition of the NABA & Moweek contest was launched, inviting national designers to compete for a two-week scholarship in Milan.
