You will get an insight into how AMCS supports and interacts with students, just as if you were in the AMCS studio. Preparing a portfolio is an exciting opportunity to select your strongest work and present it in a unique and professional way. To help you prepare, the AMCS team will provide you with insights and guidance.
The AMCS team are creative makers so the workshop will not just be informative but also interactive and activity based. You will take part in practical tasks which will give you first hand experience of how to build visually engaging pages in your portfolio. The team will also tell you more about Amsterdam Creative Studio and the different courses on offer, as well as answer any questions you may have.

Mentor Description
Binia Tallon: After studying Fashion Design Womenswear in Hamburg, Germany Binia moved to the UK. In London Binia established her own fashion label building on her experience and connections within the design industry. Binia enjoys regular knowledge exchanges with colleagues at the best design colleges around the UK.
In 2011 Binia moved to Beijing and built the BACA Foundation in Art and Design course from the ground up. Binia's curiosity and openness have driven her to develop a unique course structure and specific teaching strategies tailored towards learners that do not speak English as their first language. Twelve years later, it is still her main motivation to enable young creatives to achieve a deeper understanding of their own strengths.
Sarah Thomas: Sarah graduated in Fine Art Sculpture with a Bachelors from UAL Camberwell College of Art in 2002 and a Masters from the Royal College of Art in 2005. She has over fourteen years of teaching experience including teaching UAL Foundation courses.
Sarah has taught at many educational levels including BA and MA degrees in various Universities and Art Schools. In 2018 Sarah’s high success rates resulted in her college being chosen to become the standardisation grading centre for all UK institutions teaching the UAL qualifications.
As an educator, Sarah always strives to make her sessions and resources dynamic and industry relevant. Promoting and inspiring students to engage fully and to create outstanding outcomes.
