School Description
UCLA Extension is a public continuing education institution headquartered in Los Angeles, on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles. Founded in 1917, it is part of the University of California system, and all courses are approved by the University of California, Los Angeles.
UCLA Extension offers engaging study abroad programs for current college students and those taking a gap year to earn transferable academic credits while living in and experiencing everything Los Angeles has to offer. Courses are offered on campus and online.
Course Description
UCLA Extension offers over 40 F-1 visa-approved Certificate Programs. Credit and noncredit courses are offered in nearly every academic discipline, in many interdisciplinary areas, and in emerging fields.
Other information
After the completion of a certificate program lasting at least 9 months at UCLA Extension, students are eligible to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT). OPT allows students to work in the United States and gain practical experience in an occupation directly related to a student's area of study for one year.
